The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) Sponsors, hosts and catechists assist catechumens and candidates in their preparation for initiation into the church community.
Parish School of Religion Volunteer catechists assist the Director of Religious Education in educating our children in the Catholic Faith.
Sacramental Preparation Children anticipating the reception of First Eucharist, First Penance or Confirmation are prepared in a home-based, parish-sponsored program.
Pre-Cana (Marriage Preparation) Married couples form a team to assist engaged couples in their preparation to enter into Christian marriage.
Jordan Conference (Baptisms of Infants and Young Children) Fr. Charles Cotton, Deacon John Rericha, Deacon Frank McDevitt, Mr. Dave Gruber (Director of Religious Education) and Maryan DeBrosse (parishioner) conduct an informal session for parents to help nurture the growth of the faith within the child and family to prepare for the Sacrament of Baptism. This conference is a pre-requisite to baptism and is held once a quarter (January, April, July and October) the 3rd Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Registration is required.
Catholic School Representatives Monitoring the activity with our affiliated elementary school, support projects, assist school activities, monitors subsidy program.
SOCIAL CONCERNSSt. Vincent de Paul Society Parishioners dedicated to serving the needs of the poor and others with special needs meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. Special collections are taken on the 5th Sunday (4 months out of the year). The Vincentians meet once a month to prepare sandwiches for Saint Lawrence Haven.
Ministry to the Sick Parishioners visit those who are in nursing homes and hospitals and recovering in their homes. First Eucharist is taken once a week to those who cannot come to Mass. A group of parishioners do a Prayer Service every Tuesday at Friendship Village for the residents who are mobile. |
